Thanks for all the advice from the last post – keep it comin’!
So, I had an interesting conversation with a friend who just returned from a yoga retreat centre in the States and it got my wheels turning. She had talked about a guided journaling class she took while she was there. I may not want to be a professional Life Coach (as my training says I should be), but why waste the juicy knowledge I got from my time training? Journaling has been a part of my life since my best friend in grade three opened hers up for me, wide-eyed and excited to show me all her deepest thoughts. I now understand that journals are often not meant to show to the world, but to hold yours. Creative writing is something I thoroughly enjoy. My journal is absolutely packed full of poems and limericks that I have thought about binding…
…Got caught in a thought there. I believe I am going to run a Guided Journaling class. I need to think about it a little bit more – you know, topics and all the details – but I really like the sounds of it.
Some thoughts that have been meandering in my mind that I thought you lovelies might have some opinions on:
- Holding the sessions in the park until winter comes, and then finding a cozy place that we can curl up with a blanket and reflect.
- Cost of classes by donation
- 5 week series … too long/short?
Mainly, is this something that you are interested in? I’m not looking for commitments here (unless you feel inclined), just a general knowing that you are out there and there is a place for this in the community.
Contemplative,
A

Something I would really love to try!
Oh, goody!!! I’ll keep ya posted
For some reason I am thinking Starbucks in the Winter. I wonder if they’d let u reserve space knowing that u and your students would be purchasing beverages such as Pumpkin Spice Lattes…mmmm!
YES! We could snap our fingers like in poetry readings and wear berets. I am going to contact them!
