Mine was yesterday.
I missed it, yes, but that doesn’t make it less special. This way, I’m going to make it a Blogoversary Week rather than one day. Rejoice!
Whether you read my thoughts with every new post, or you drop by once in a while to see what’s going on, I thank you. It is a warm feeling to know that I’ve got a community that both wants to hear what I have to say as well as supports me in my endeavors. It is because of some really hard work and your help that I’ve discovered a passion.
I would like to hear what you have to say also. If you have a blog, please leave a link in a comment on this post so I can follow it.
P.S. More Blogoversary Week fun to come!

This week marks the anniversary of what I’ve been referring to on this blog as the Incident! (The day that my downward spiral ended and hit the bottom of the pit). It was both the worst and best night of my life. Reflecting upon this past year, I look at how much I’ve changed and how far I’ve come. The first thing that comes to mind is that I am genuinely astonished and, frankly, impressed with myself. Toot toot toot. (That’s the sound of my own horn being tooted). The second is a question…
Do we need to experience suffering in order to know happiness?
Contrast is of great importance for some matters. Without dark, we would not have light. Without being aware of cold, we would not know hot. We have no frame of reference to classify something unless there is something that it is not.
It’s a sore thought for me to wrap my head around that suffering is a mandatory part of life. Perhaps it’s because I have done just that and am not entirely sure it was necessary. Or perhaps it’s because I believe that the natural state is one of happiness.
P.S. I will be doing something to raise awareness of mental health in the community to commemorate my triumph over my own, I’m just not entirely sure what form that will take on yet. Stay posted, friends.
